Story

Detail's taken from Elizabeth Nield's Fundraising Page http://www.justgiving.com/LizzieandSam Sam and myself have been training for this marathon since January and although we have just loved giving up our Sunday's and weekday evenings to run round Lytham St Annes and Blackpool it hasn't been without it's difficulties, freezing temperatures, a knee operation, getting stuck behind fences to name just a few! The lovely hilly route which takes us 26.2 miles through the Lake district is only a few weeks away and although we set out to do it as a personal challenge, we think it is important to take the opportunity to raise money for a good cause and we couldn't think of one more worthy than this. A friend told us of a family who had recently tragically lost their baby boy to meningitis. Meningitis is a devastating disease. It can come out of nowhere and kill in just four hours. It affects anyone, of any age, at any time. Every week, six people in the UK die from it. Please follow the below link to read Callum's story and why we should be heping to raise money and awareness for this charity. http://meningitisuk.tributefunds.com/fund/Callum+Charlie+Towne/showFund/ Meningitis UK works relentlessly to stamp out meningitis and save lives. They invest in pioneering research to help find a vaccine for every type of meningitis and will not stop until they do. They help people understand the symptoms to look out for, so they can protect Meningitis UK offer emotional support to help people live with the heartache it leaves behind.
